FAST FORWARD

Pause Fest is an independent, industry-driven movement with a mission to bring diverse intelligence together to fuel the next generation forward.

We spent eleven years engineering the community of champions to create the global stage for them. We’ve been described as 'Innovation Capital', 'Octoberfest for business' and 'Woodstock for digital natives’.

And now is the new moment to go global and start a club.

About Banner1n2

DESIGNED FOR PROGRESS

Pause Fest was built on a set of values that have stood firm for a decade, but our programming evolves each year as we keep apace with the industry’s trends and needs. We’ve created a culture for the brightest of creators and innovators to come together and share their projects, knowledge, passions and insights – openly, freely and generously for the benefit of the entire community.

Every experience you have is a raw material to create with. We believe that creativity was, is and will be the future of any business; because creativity is innovation, connecting different experiences into a new one. We firmly believe that everyone is creative - it’s a skill that can be learned. Pause Fest provides an environment in which you can learn how to be more innovative and then apply those learnings to your everyday business, no matter the industry you’re in.

You should pause to learn, network and grow.

11 YEARS OF INNOVATION

PauseFest about logo

Over the years, we’ve bagged numerous global awards, including the well-respected RedDot Design Award for our interactive magazine and Motion Response Original initiative. We’ve partnered with WOW Media in LA and for three year offer our artists free digital billboard space amongst the biggest Hollywood movies.

We were invited to Croatia and Abu Dhabi to curate a portion of their events and have thrown national meetups as well as executive retreats. While we are proud to go global, our last two years have also engaged programs to support innovation in regional Victoria. We invited HyperloopTT to start conversations around fast transportation between Sydney and Melbourne in 2017, and we helped to connect the G'Day USA with SXSW, where they are now running the Australia House among other initiatives.

Canva, Zero Latency, AKQA, Women in Tech, For the People, Girls in Tech Australia and many more have launched their businesses at Pause Fest. Tesla showcased its first Model S in here with us, Dropbox introduced its Paper product to the Australian audiences and Airwallex launched their card globally in partnership with Visa.

In 2020, we have launched inagraual The State of the Australian Tech Report and took Pause Awards nationally and to New Zealand. Next year, we’re preparing the next level online experience for you.

The question is, will you be there with us when the next big thing is born?

Ten years ago, Pause Fest launched as a small creative event in Melbourne. Today, we’re the world’s leading festival for business and creativity. We firmly believe that our local is the new global, and we aim to bring local voices to the global stage in 2021.
About Banner3n2

DIVERSITY, ACCESSIBILITY
AND INCLUSION (DAI)

For us, DAI isn’t optional. It’s essential. Pause Fest is built on diversity. It’s been in our DNA since day dot. When looking for speakers or attracting attendees our stand is united.

We are proactively working to support and represent people from diverse backgrounds and are advocates for racial, gender, accessibility and LGBTQIA+ diversity. Pause is committed to championing further inclusion in our programming, awards and projects.
We are proudly championing 50/50 speaker gender diversity and our attendees reflect the same ratio. We will continue this and push for further diversity in future projects, events and awards.

We have partnered with One Love Australia to support their #ShareThePlatform that is giving black, indigenous and people of colour (BIPOC) founders an opportunity to tell their stories about the successful startups they have built. We strongly encourage people of colour, LGBTQIA+ individuals, parents, and individuals with disabilities to apply to speak and to our awards.

The Pause Fest community is a safe and welcoming environment for anyone to engage. Our Code of Conduct applies to anyone attending our events.
