AWS Pause Fest Startup Pitch Comp Winners

This year our startup pitch competition returned to Pause Fest for the 6th time. Qualifying rounds saw 30 innovative new startups from across a broad range of sectors, from AgTech to MedTech, from Human Resources to Energy, pitch from our Startups Stage in the Tech Garden Expo. Each had 3 minutes to pitch in front of 9 respected industry judges and thousands of peers and Pause Fest attendees.

Every day of the festival 10 startups competed and the best two pitches made it through to the final round, leaving us with 6 outstanding startups vying for the top place in the AWS Pause Fest StartUp Pitch 2020, closing out the program on our main stage after it had played host to three days of keynote talks and panels from some of the biggest names in the festival.

Thanks to Amazon Web Services (AWS) all 30 startups walked away as winners with each taking home a stack of AWS credits, and of course the top contenders scored some great prize packs contributed by our friends at AWS, Singularity University, Hacker Exchange, La Trobe University, Square Peg and General Assembly, with a total prize pool value of over $100,000.

Coming in Third Place with their platform for children with ASD or other developmental disabilities we had AI on Spectrum, taking out Second Place with solutions for Electric Vehicle charging was the team from Everty, and taking out the grand prize in first place was Medinet Australia from Sydney, putting Health Care in the palm of your hand.
