Can I get a refund?

Pause does not exchange or refund lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed tickets. A change in personal circumstances does not entitle a ticket holder to return or exchange a ticket.

Is my registration/ ticket transferable?

Your registration and ticket is transferable until 10 January 2020. Simply register on and change the name of the attendee you wish to transfer ticket to.

How can I speak at Pause Fest 2020?

We currently have a surplus of applications for Pause Fest 2020. Speaking applications for Pause 2021 should launch around April 2019. However, if you think you have a strong submission, multi-national or international speaker, please get in touch.

Why there are no single-day tickets?

After ten years in the festival business and community building we are looking for the engagement not transactional behaviours. We hope the full event experience will be far more rewarding and enriching for everyone involved and it will help strengthen the community. 

Why can’t I buy the Creator ticket?

Creator tickets are for the young, often tech-driven companies and startups that are looking to commercialise their ideas or rapid growth with scalable business model. We accept applications on case-by-case basis.

What’s the new venue?

Pause Fest 2020 is changing venue from Federation Square to Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The venue is also abbreviated as MCEC.

How do I get to MCEC now?

For the best route to the festival, whatever your chosen mode of transport, click HERE.

BY TRAM: Tram routes 96, 109 and 12 (Stop 124A Casino/MCEC) will all take you to our Clarendon Street entrance. Otherwise, tram routes 70, 75 and the City Circle (Stop D5) take you to Flinders Street. From there, it’s just a short walk up Clarendon Street until you reach us. For tram timetables or further trip planning, use Public Transport Victoria’s Journey Planner. 

What are my transport and parking options?

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre has a car park located within the Exhibition Centre. Additionally, there are secure car parks located in and around South Wharf including, South Wharf Retail Car Park, Siddeley Street Carpark, Freeway Carpark and Montague Street Carpark.

All venues are under one roof now. Two stages with two workshop stages and Tech Garden Expo are on the ground level whilst the main stage is on the first floor. In front of the building there are many trendy cafes and restaurants looking over the Yarra river.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Bring anything you need to engage with the speakers, workshops and panels you’ll be attending. If you are heading to a workshop of any description, be sure to bring your laptop with the required software already installed. And make sure you bring a stack of business cards! In terms of what not to bring, we’ll leave that down to common sense…

Is food being served at the event?

Free food is not part of the event. You will need to take care of your daily lunches and dinners, but free fruit, coffee and water stations will be provided.

Totally! We encourage you to go as crazy as you like, and we look forward to you soaking up our enthusiasm. You can find a lot of images on our website or on our social networks. If you are festival partner, please reach out for a media kit.
