Rebuilding Citizenship in the 21st Century.

What if a government website could be designed for its users, and by its users?

On 13th February, join public servants and community members to write content for The Neighbourhood Justice Centre’s new beta website.

From the ground up, this new website will be designed to be people-centric, rather than government-centric. Existing government websites have a wealth of great information, but people find it difficult to navigate and challenging to find the specific information they’re looking for. Inspired by the DTO, we want an existing Victorian government website to be fundamentally focused on what citizens want to know.

To this end, Code for Australia and The Neighbourhood Justice Centre are running a new type of event, a “civic write-a-thon.” Join residents and government employees to collaborate in researching and writing what a government's website should answer.

These events put the Fest in Pause Fest. It's where talks walk the walk and you can physically experience technology in action. Or as House of Pain says, simply 'Get out your seats and jump around'.
